Recovery Education & Community Engagement
Read MoreRed wolf crossing sign by Nancy Arehart
These mobile red wolf crossing signs are helping red wolves in a significant way. They alert folks to keep an eye out for red wolves while driving. These signs, combined with the orange reflective GPS/VHF collars now put on adult wolves, have drastically reduced vehicle strikes, a leading cause of death for red wolves. These vehicle accidents also result in human injuries and lives lost, which no one wants. So thank you, U.S. Fish and Wildlife and North Carolina Wildlife Federation, for prioritizing these signs and saving human and red wolf lives!
