Shy wild red wolf at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge by Nancy Arehart
The presence of red wolves on a landscape actually helps bird populations like quail and songbirds. How? Well, red wolves eat animals like raccoons that prey on bird eggs. By preventing the raccoon population from ballooning and eating too many bird eggs, more birds are given the chance to survive.
