Two collared wild red wolves at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge (2020) by Wildlands Network
Why do most adult red wolves in the wild have bright orange collars on? For various reasons good including (1) to act as a reflective color to help minimize accidents with vehicles, (2) to help prevent red wolves from being misidentified as coyotes by hunters, and (3) to allow the recovery team on the ground to track the wolves.
